We pick you up from your hotel in the morning. First stop: the Cathedral of Saint-Vincent de Paul on Avenue Habib Bourguiba. It's the largest cathedral in North Africa, a striking blend of Romanesque, Byzantine and Moorish architecture right in the heart of Tunis.
From there, we walk into the Medina of Tunis, a UNESCO World Heritage site. A real labyrinth of covered souks, with artisans still working copper, leather and spices the old way. Our guide knows the good ones — the craftspeople who still do everything by hand.
At midday we head down to La Goulette for lunch. It's the port district of Tunis, famous for its fresh fish and seafood restaurants: grilled sea bream, prawns, compari. You eat right by the harbour.
In the afternoon: Carthage. First the Baths of Antoninus, the largest Roman baths in Africa, right on the Mediterranean shore. Then the Theatre of Carthage, still used for concerts in summer, with views across the gulf.
Last stop: Sidi Bou Saïd. The blue-and-white village perched on its cliff, bougainvillea everywhere, Café des Délices with its famous views over the bay. The late-afternoon light makes the colours perfect for photos.
Back to your hotel by late afternoon.
